ÿþIf you polled some non-sneakerhead people, air jordan 11 cap and gown they couldn't tell you the difference between a Nike Air Force 1, a Nike Dunk and an Air Jordan 1, but they can tell you generalities because those kicks been ubiquitous for over 30 years and thus is iconic. The Yeezy has a long way to go before that happens but hell, Kanye has managed to get this far in the game that there's no reason to stop. We're just along for the ride.Earlier this year, Los Angeles was blessed with an OVO pop-up shop that housed everything a Drake fan could ever want. But then April 16th (which happens to be Toronto's area code) happened and nothing was the same. Without any heads up, the hugely popular Air Jordan 10 OVOs in both the white and black colorways were made available in-store. Pairs were quickly shown off on Instagram or listed on eBay and Kixify for obscene amounts of dollars. If you're a betting type, expect something similar to take place next year on the same day.

So what keeps UA from bringing home the title of best brand this year? Besides the Curry One, can you name another Under Armour shoe? This is still a sneaker blog after all and our criteria isn't just about how many trophies their athletes take home. That being said, if there is one new shoe (not named Yeezy) that has the chance to transcend and become as iconic as the Air Jordans of the world, it's the air jordan 11 red Curry One. Steph's unbelievable first season as a signature shoe athlete was a gift from the Basketball Gods and his continued success only makes him and the brand and the shoes look better. You might think that kids today are obsessed with Jordans, but nah, they're following what they see on TV and what they see on TV is a baby-faced point guard who is a wizard on the handles and a savant on the shot. And that point guard wears Under Armour.

2015 air jordan 2018 was a HUGE year for adidas. We know that their numbers can't really be compared to Nike and Jordan Brand's , but something more important than numbers for adidas is that for the first time in a very long time people are talking about them again. Usually all we hear about is what Nike is doing with LeBrons or Kobes and what Air Jordan retro will be dropping next week or next month, but this year lots of the buzz included adidas. Of course the Yeezy x adidas collaborations took over headlines in 2015, but adidas also made some noise with their Originals and Boost lines. We were constantly writing/talking about the ZX Flux, Tubular, Tubular X, XENO technology and possibly the sneaker of the year, the Ultra Boost. Let's keep our fingers crossed that in 2016 adidas continues to create more silhouettes/technology that will have us talking about them on a daily basis. Cause who doesn't love a little friendly sneaker competition to make the other air jordan black and white step their game up?

This year brought us more collaborations than I think we've ever seen when it comes to sneakers. Not only did we have "the usual" brands dishing out collaborations left and right like New Balance, Asics, PUMA, Vans, and Saucony, but we also had adidas, Nike and even Jordan Brand joining in on the fun. Some of the most noteworthy collabs that dropped in 2015 include the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 (btw there's another colorway expected to release in January), the Pigalle x Nike LeBron 12 Elite, the Supreme x Air Jordan 5s, and the PSNY x Air Jordan 12. Collaborations are a win for everybody because two different brands/companies are able to work together to get their name out there and most of the time the quality of the release is better than their inline work. So I expect to see more collaborations than ever in 2016 so everybody can stay winning together.

To me, it does not get more classic than the Air Jordan 1 . 2015 proved to be a great year for the model but I ultimately landed on the " Shattered Backboard " for my list. The reasons? It was easily the best quality Jordan 1 in a very long time, I love the colorway and it is unique to 2015 having never released before. A lot of sneakerheads complained about Jordan Brand "reaching" with the sneaker's storytelling but, personally, I thought it was executed perfectly (even if it wasn't the most riveting tale).Surprised? You really shouldn't be; I did repeatedly tell you I am sucker for quality. The Ronnie Fieg x Buscemi 110mm is in my opinion, the best sneaker to have released this year. "Best" is subjective of course and this sneaker is certainly not a hit across some categories  namely, it is anything but affordable. Still, it is unarguably the most well made (handmade in Italy), high quality (the leather is gorgeous) and it is stylish as hell with its Air Jordan 1 inspired color-blocking.

I knew right from the get go that there were going to be a lot of Jordan "purists" who just couldn't deal with the fact that one of their beloved all-time favorites was cut off in half and made a release. The Air Jordan 1 High OG Royal is one of the all-time greatest colorways that has ever released. Any release trying air jordan for toddlers to duplicate that look will automatically get "stank looks" or witty remarks such as being a "poor man's" such and such. Regardless, Jordan Brand decided to go ahead and release several low-top versions of some of the most classic OG colorways of the Air Jordan 1. The Royal Blue version happened to be one of them, and just like I expected it didn't do so well with Jordan enthusiasts. I take the shoe for what it is. It's a low-top version of a Jordan classic.
